
It has always been the popular belief that only girls play casual games. Wii Play, Wii Sports, etc. Apparently this is not true, according to a recent study by the Casual Gamers Association.
According to their findings, women are more likely to purchase casual games. However, once brought home, boys are just as likely to play the game as the girl who purchased it.
The year-long survey found that while women make up 75 percent of those who purchase casual games, those who play casual games are an even 50-50 split by gender.
“It was really shocking for everybody,” said the association’s Jessica Tams when commenting on the findings. “Everyone always thought that casual games were something that only appeal to women.
