10 Best Nintendo Wii Games for 2007

The Nintendo Wii has been out for more than a full year now and the games are just starting to roll out. I expect 2008 to be an incredible year when it comes to Nintendo Wii games, but 2007 is about complete and there are quite a few great games already available. Infendo is celebrating the upcoming new year by looking back at the 10 best Nintendo Wii games of 2007.

I can’t tease you with #1, because that is probably the most obvious one on the list (Super Mario Galaxy). So I’ll just throw this one out to you, the readers. What is your top 10 for 2007?

Not Everyone Loves Super Mario Galaxy

Based on sales and reviews, it seems likely that Super Mario Galaxy will be the most popular game of all time before to long, but apparently not everyone likes the game. CNet Blogs is advising potential buyers not to believe the hype surrounding the game. While it looks like it will satisfy Mario fans, they feel it isn’t anything to write home about.

One year after the launch of the Nintendo Wii, you still can’t find one on the shelves. Want a Wii Zapper? Looks like you may not be able to find one of those on the shelves either. Like Wii Play earlier this year, these games are priced to move at $20.00. You get the Wii Zapper, and you get the Link’s Crossbow Training, which is designed to teach you to use the Zapper.

If you haven’t gotten your Wii Zapper yet, I recommend picking one up as soon as possible.

New Link’s Crossbow Training Videos Now Available

If you are a fan of shooter games, you’ve probably taken notice of a new game due out tomorrow called Link’s Crossbow Training. This game is actually included with the purchase of a new “gun” controller called the Wii Zapper and will feature 27 different levels, several different game modes and multiplayer capability up to four people.

If you are interested in checking it out, IGN.com has a bunch of trailers available for this game. I’m really excited about this release and can only imagine the possibilities for this Wii Zapper with one shooter games.

Nintendo Wii Has The Most Games Available for Download

Nintendo was a little late getting into the online gaming, but they’ve made tremendous strides since the release of the Nintendo Wii. Now it looks like they are already leading the way when it comes to having the most downloadable games available.

According to GamePro, in a recent article at PCWorld:

84 percent of downloadable 360 games have online functionality compared with 45 percent of PS3 titles and zero percent for Wii games.

Only 12 percent of downloadable games are original titles, says EEDAR, especially given Nintendo’s lopsided contribution of older games.

In terms of median game prices, PS3 titles are the cheapest at $5.99, followed by Virtual Console games at $6, and Xbox Live Arcade games at $10, the most expensive of the three. Furthermore, 80 percent of the downloadable content on the PlayStation 3 is free compared to just 29 percent on Xbox 360.
