Nintendo Wii For $79.00 at Amazon.com?

If you are still looking to purchase a Nintendo Wii, there is a chance that you could get one from Amazon.com via their Amazon Customers Vote promotion. In addition to the Nintendo Wii, there will be PS3’s and XBox’s available for people that are interested.

In order to be eligible, you need to vote for the Nintendo Wii. How the promotion works is the products that get the most votes in each of six rounds will be offered at ridiculous winning prices, and the runners-up will also be sold at slightly smaller discounts. (But they’ll still be sweet deals.)

Vote. Browse our six rounds of great products, and vote for the ones you’d like to buy at an amazing discount.
Check back. Come back on each round’s buying day to see if you were randomly selected to get a deal on the product you voted for in that round.

Nintendo Considering a Zelda III Remake?

I’ve been seeing rumors all over the blogosphere about this one. Apparently Nintendo is considering another remake of possibly the greatest Zelda game of all time, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Super Nintendo. It was already ported at one point to the Game Boy Advance, where it was extremely popular as well.

According to the crew at GoNintendo, Eiji Aonuma was interviewed in the latest issue of Official Nintendo Magazine (UK) where he stated:

Ocarina of Time was the first title I worked on, and I was continuously tackling challenges every day during its development, so I think this is the title I feel I impacted the most. I believe that experience made me what I am now. I always think about what we couldn’t do and what didn’t work well in the previous game when we start a new title, but there’s no game that I would want to actually change as such. I have to say though, the first Zelda game that I played and felt potential in was Link to the Past. I’m actually very interested in what it would be like if we remade that title as a 3D game.

What Characters Will Be Included in Super Smash Brothers Brawl?

As one of the most anticipated games for the Nintendo Wii, there has been no shortage of hype and speculation for Super Smash Brothers Brawl. One of the most popular things to speculate on is the characters that will be included.

The official Smash Brothers Brawl website has been maintaining a list of characters to be included in the game, but we know that additional characters will be available in some form (by default or earned somehow). IGN has continued their speculation of possible other characters to be included, some of which seem to be strong possibilities.

So it seems we’ve once again got some more time to keep the speculation and wishlist discussion going. Our last edition kept a Halloween theme, and suggested possible “costumes” for certain characters to wear – creating remixed versions of established characters, but not taking up an extra roster spot.

Wii Rumor Squashed: Nintendo Wii Will Not Get a HardDrive (HDD)

Pretty much since the launch of the Nintendo Wii a year ago, there have been rumors swirling that Nintendo had a hard drive was in the works. It makes sense with the number of virtual console games that are now available via the online store.

Unfortunately, according to Nintendic, it looks like Nintendo has officially squashed the rumor that a hard drive is in the works. Their primary reasoning is due to the ability to re-download games once purchased.

“The way that we look at it is, we really don’t want people storing every single game they buy on their drive,” said NOA PR manager, Eric Walter, reports CVG.

“When you buy a game, it’s yours forever, so you can delete it, and go back and get it at any time you want. In a way, we liken it to putting music on your iPod; you listen to it for a while, and then you get tired of it, and you pull it off, and you put some new stuff on.”

When you factor in the upcoming WiiWare release, personal pictures and virtual console games, it is easy to fill up. I think that eventually a hard drive will be needed, but for now it looks like we will have to wait. How full is your Wii hard drive? Rumor: Nintendo Wii’s Available on Amazon Tomorrow?

Still looking for that elusive Nintendo Wii? Most people that were desperate for one seem to have one now, but its still tough to find one on the shelves in most local stores. I still have yet to ever see one for sale on the shelf ever at any point (I bought mine online before last Christmas) and the console has been out for roughly a year now.

If you are located in the United States and still looking for a Nintendo Wii, I recommend you check out Amazon.com on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at around 1 p.m. Eastern time (10 a.m. Pacific time). Apparently some will be made available at that time for anyone that still needs one. Hurry though, as I’m sure they will be gone quick!

Animal Crossing to Become Massive Multiplayer Online Game?

Is this speculation or fact?

Although Nintendo is yet to confirm this, it looks like the UK’s gaming magazine Edge is reporting that Animal Crossing is set to become a Massive Multiplayer social network.

Its good to see Nintendo heading in this direction now that online play is available to Nintendo users. The popularity of World of Warcraft, SIMS, and other MMORPG’s shows there is a lot of demand for this type of stuff. Hopefully this happens soon!
