A couple of days ago I wrote a post about the Nintendo DS product life cycle being suspended due to the Nintendo DS still being cutting edge. Well, it looks like Microsoft will follow suit with their XBox 360, extending their product life cycle beyond 5 years.
What does this mean for Sony? If they want to compete and sell game consoles, consumers will want to know that purchasing a Playstation will still be good 5 years from now, especially with the price tag they are asking.
