According to several published reports, it looks like people who are still looking for that elusive Nintendo Wii gaming console may finally be able to find one here soon.
According to Next-Gen, it looks like Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime is confident that Nintendo will be able to step up the product to meet this holiday seasons demands:
As every publisher talks about shifting over to Wii it’s creating this crush of production right now at our factories for software. What we’ve done is to ramp that capacity up and work with the publishers to ensure that their best titles get into the marketplace and [they] have a productive holiday. This is a very short-term situation that is effectively going to be resolved in a course of three week’s time.
This was said in response to several video game software companies expressing concern over Nintendo Wii availability. After all, who is going to buy Wii games if they can’t find the Nintendo Wii to play them on?
Getting Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero was a great step, but we aren’t going to truly get a great game selection until all the software companies are on board. Hopefully Reggie is right and this is resolved soon.
