According to several published reports, it looks like Nintendo may be getting ready to pull their holiday advertising, due to the lack of consoles available for purchase.
I remember last year wondering why I saw so many Wii ads when no one could find a Wii to purchase. At the time, I kind of shrugged it off because I figured they were just trying to generate buzz and demand for their gaming console. People are less likely to buy a competitors console if they know what the Wii can do. I think this year is a little different because people are getting really frustrated trying to locate the Wii in stores, and the advertising is only reminding people that they can’t find one.
